Join us for a chat with Pakistani artist Shehzil Malik during her virtual residency to discuss her work and experiences as a feminist illustrator and designer.

RSVP HERE- https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/redrawing-boundaries-in-conversation-with-shehzil-malik-tickets-109954557040 (tickets released 12pm Friday 19th)

Known internationally for her bold illustrations as well as for her work for Aurat March (Women’s March), Malik regularly faces both opposition and support for her honest and overtly feminist depictions of women. Her work delves into topics largely unaddressed by mainstream media both in Pakistan and internationally, exploring the plurality of Pakistani women’s experiences through visual storytelling. This event will include an overview of Malik’s body of work and an interview with the artist, followed by a Q&A session for audience members.

Shehzil will be interviewed by Naila Tasnim. Naila is a photographer and writer with an interest in socially engaged art. She currently works with the DIY Rabbits collective.

A Zoom link will be sent to guests ahead of the event.

This event is part of Housewarming, a residency created through a collaboration between Create London and the British Council.
